A Holistic Approach to Easter (plus FREE resources!)

Blog

Easter is a time for joy, reflection, and celebration! And it’s a perfect opportunity to incorporate holistic practices into your approach in early childhood education services.

By focusing on the mind, body, and spirit, children can learn about the importance of Easter and how it relates to their lives. Here are some ideas on how to celebrate Easter in a holistic way in early childhood education services:

Mind: Easter is a great time to encourage children to reflect on their values and beliefs. You can help children develop their critical thinking skills by asking them open-ended questions, such as “What does Easter mean to you?”. No doubt you’ll get some fun, funny and insightful responses! Additionally, you can incorporate books that promote reflection around Easter.

Body: Easter is also an excellent time to incorporate movement into your celebrations! Bunny hopping races and Easter scavenger hunts not only promote physical activity but also teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Spirit: Finally, Easter is a time to celebrate the spirit of giving and kindness. You can encourage children to participate in acts of kindness, such as making cards and artwork for loved ones and even neighbours! A lovely chance to encourage children to reflect on the importance of gratitude and encourage them to express gratitude towards others.
